We live in a world facing an ecological crisis, and its effects are becoming impossible to ignore—extreme heat, drought, wildfires, and failing harvests are becoming the new reality. At Cal Tut, we choose to respond with active hope. Instead of being overwhelmed by the challenges, we focus on what we can do: regenerating ecosystems, producing abundant food, and living in community.

In 2025, we established a Syntropic Agroforestry System (SAF) on our land together with expert Juliana Simoes, and the results have inspired us beyond our expectations. Syntropy shows that we don't have to choose between feeding people and restoring nature—we can do both at the same time.

During this week, we'll empower you to make a radical shift in the way you relate to the world. You'll gain practical skills to regenerate ecosystems while growing abundant food, and rediscover what it means to be an active participant in the web of life. Together, we'll move from feeling powerless in the face of ecological collapse to finding the knowledge, confidence, and agency to become part of the solution.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭?

After this week, you will have a hands-on understanding of how Syntropic Agroforestry (SAF) works and how to implement it at home, on a piece of (community) land, or even on your balcony. We will be guided by local SAF expert Juliana Simoes.

During the week you'll learn how to:
🌱 Design and establish a Syntropic Agroforestry system
✂️ Use strategic pruning to regenerate soil and accelerate ecological succession
🥕 Preserve your harvest through fermentation and other techniques
🌿 Distill essential oils and make natural care products
🌾 Save seeds and propagate plants
📝 Create a practical design for your own project—whether it's a garden, community space, farm, or even a balcony!

Beyond the workshops, you'll experience a week of community living with delicious vegetarian meals, campfires, music, nature walks, natural swimming spots, and sessions in our mobile sauna.

More about the farm
Farm Cal Tut is located one kilometer from the picturesque village of Mieres with 300 inhabitants, which is known for its feria de intercanvi: the large exchange market where money does not exist. It is a village where people help each other and work together for a local solidarity-based economy.

We started our adventure on the farm in 2021 and are bit by bit implementing our regenerative dream here.

The farm consists of 70 hectares of land of which 66 hectares of forest and 4 hectares of agricultural land with 3 buildings from 1780 to 1920 that we are rebuilding step by step.

On the farm there is a central square, an outside kitchen with a pizza oven, a guitar workshop, a yurt, a sauna, a sintopic food forest, a vegetable garden, a greenhouse an orchard, a vineyard and an extensive forest with hiking trails.
There are lots of swimmingspots in the surroundings to take a refreshing dip.

On the farm we have only eco-toilets and the water of the showers go back to the soil. Therefore we ask everybody to only use ecological and biodegredible hygiene products and if possible, only wash natural clothes on the because of the microplastics.

La Garrotxa is known for its lush and green landscapes, however, for the last years we have had severe droughts, therefore we ask everybody to be very conscious with their wateruse.

𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲l
When planning your trip, please keep in mind that the program starts on Saturday October 24th at 16:00 and ends on Saturday October 31st at 10:00. We strongly recommend organizing and booking your trip as early as possible. Prices for trains and buses tend to increase the closer you get to the departure date. Additionally, arranging a shared car becomes more challenging as the event approaches.

You can book a train ticket to Girona via Trainline or a bus ticket to Barcelona through Flixbus (from where you can take another bus to Banyoles). We offer pick-up for participants traveling by public transport in Girona or Banyoles on Saturday, October 24th, around 3 PM. Drop-off will be provided the following Saturday morning, October 31st, also in Girona or Banyoles. For those who prefer to travel by train or bus, this means that in some cases you will have to arrive on Friday to arrive on time. You can choose to spend a night in picturesque Girona. Or if you want to come to the farm on Friday, you are part of the decoration- and preparation team before the other participants arrive on Saturday.

The most economical (and fun) option is to share a car ride. For that, we have created a carpool:

We do not stimulate air traffic during these weeks, so we explicitly ask everyone not to come by plane.

𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
Because we already incur costs with the food cooperative, workshop leaders and for materials before the Regeneration Week, we work with cancellation conditions.

𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
If the Regeneration Week is canceled by the organisation due to force majeure, participants will receive a full refund.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
• More than 6 Weeks in Advance: Participants who cancel more than six weeks before the event will receive a 75% refund.
• 6 to 2 Weeks in Advance: Participants who cancel between six and two weeks before the event will receive a 50% refund.
• Less than 14 Days in Advance: No refund will be provided for cancellations made less than 14 days before the event.
• In case of a refund: Participants will receive the refund minus €50 administration costs.

𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
• If a participant cannot attend, they may transfer their place to another interested party.
• If a waiting list exists, the organisation can allocate the participant’s spot to the next person on the list.
• The participant must notify the organisation if a replacement participant is confirmed.
