Contact Impro Jam + Intro

Sobre este evento

## Contact Improvisation: The joyful art of falling and rising together.

This is a grounding and embodying experience, which helps mind and body come together in a playful manner. Through giving, and taking weight, rolling on the ground and eachother, we learn to move in surprising and fun ways. Dancing CI can feel like a combination of getting a massage, acrobatics, surfing, dancing, andd… flying?

CI is a movement practice that helps us break down habitual movement patterns, and instead create room for new and exciting ways to move, dance and play.

It is a way for us to be uniquely and unboundedly creative.

## Introduction - An elaborated handshake, by Ludo

The handshake. Most common little ritual, or perhaps little dance, we use to meet and greet.
In this intro we will slow down time and get deeply curious about the shaking of hands.

If we give ourselves the permission to really feel and taste, the simple meeting of two hands. Who knows how much we might discover there?

And when we start to let go of the familiar's, the "should's" and "should not's" of body to body interaction, and follow the path of our own curiosity, who knows where we might find ourselves?

Come along friends, for a guided tour from familiar rituals into the wide open spaces of free improvisation.

- Contact makes you happy (and perhaps shy?)
- Especially for you if you are curious but also a bit afraid
- And for all of us who just can't get enough of somatic research through dancing!

For all movers, beginning or advanced. You don’t have to have the “skills” to dance contact improvisation.

## Contribution

A contribution of € 10-20 is asked for participating in this event. By contributing you support the continuation and growth of this jam and community. (Also, we do pay rent)

## Finally

CI can be seen as a form of art, it is about body research, and play, in a non-sexual way. Although those feelings are super welcome to rise and fall, we are not engaging in them. If your intention is to "pick up" or hookup: this is not the place my dear.

## About Ludo

With these jams we hope we can bring more people in touch with the wonderful practice of contact improvisation. As it is greatly transforming the way we see and experience life, we wish it can do the same for you.
